My early morning walks are really getting interesting, and rather chilly, as the cooler air is finally starting to creep southward! My morning routine is usually nearly exactly the same... dog barks outside our bedroom door, I drag my sleepy self from under the covers, quickly use the bathroom, then hurry out to walk the dog before she wakes the LG and Dante.
Usually I change from my sleeping shorts into a pair of sweats or jeans, but this morning, I just couldn't shake the cobwebs from my head, so I was HOPING that the dog would permit me to go back to bed after her walk. That being said, I scurried out of the bedroom without changing into long pants, which left me in my loose, skimpy sleep shorts and sleeveless shirt.
Once I'd gotten out of the bedroom, I noticed immediately that our front porch light was once again on, but peering into that grey predawn haze, I couldn't make out any shapes moving or anything amiss. Still, for safety sake, I kept busy inside for as long as the dog would permit, trying to pass a bit more time so that it would be lighter outside when we did exit the house. The dog put up with this delay quite well, for another 10-15 minutes, and though the first rays of sunlight weren't showing themselves, night was rapidly ending as we entered the chill, still morning air.
As we took our usual walking path through our large front yard, I made my way carefully along in my sandals. I'd forgotten to grab a pair of socks and the grass has grown quite tall along our "path," with weeds growing taller still, and the dew was still wet and clingy upon the leaves. The dog was on high alert, sniffing the air, hyper-focusing on the yard next door to ours, where a house has stood vacant for more than a year. I saw nothing, and feel certain that whatever had been there was now gone, but the dog wasn't so sure.
Still, the usual morning calm came over me as always, as I let the internal stresses of my mind just melt away with the fading darkness. My primal side came through, and in the grey light of almost morning, on our quiet country dirt road, nothing moved but squirrels and a few stirring birds. I felt safe, and alone and serene, and a little bit naughty.
Wrapped up in the moment, I couldn't help myself. I found my hands beginning to roam over my shirt, up under the hem, down beneath the well-worn elastic of my shorts (once again, I rarely wear panties, and never to bed). My hands had a mind of their own as I seductively raised my shirt up above my perky breasts, with nipples coming fully erect as soon as they made direct contact with the chill morning air.
Ever watchful for cars or noise, my hands slid over my shorts, grasping at the baggy legs, sliding the material up high over my hups, exposing my thighs and buttocks to the day ahead. Ahhh... my exhibitionist side definitely got a thrill this morning! Happily satiated, I wandered back inside with the dog, ready to begin my day!
Oh, by the way, whatever wild creature has been coming around under cover of darkness made its way to our place again last night as well, and drove the dog absolutely insane. So much so that I had to close off the bedroom with the biggest front-facing window for fear of her leaping right through it as she growled and whined and barked. We've ruled out deer because even though we know they come into the yard, they don't come close enough to the front porch to set off the light, and though the dog definitely gets a rise out of them, they don't upset her to the point of growling. I'm still hoping to solve the mystery, but it's kind of cool NOT knowing, too!

I've never been much of a voyeur. Yes, I know, it's one of my shortcomings.

Hi Tiggs,
I enjoy morning walks sometimes. I am going for one this morning to take my son to school. I would almost not want to know what is coming around. We live out in the country too and get some wildlife sometimes. You never know what's creeping around the corner. :)
I hope you are doing ok, Tiggs. Thinking of ya, sweet friend.
XOXO

Have you thought about borrowing a camcorder with a motion detector on it and setting it up in a window, to find out what is coming into your yard. You must be curious to know what it is, I know I am.
